BrightKey's Assessment
Bangkok Prep (Bangkok International Preparatory & Secondary School) opened in 2003 and is now in its 23rd year. It delivers the National Curriculum of England, adapted in the primary years to reflect Thai culture, from age 2 (Pre-Nursery) through to Sixth Form at age 18. The school is operated within the International Schools Partnership (ISP), a global group of 80+ schools across 21 countries — giving it group-level resourcing while retaining a single-city, two-campus footprint on Sukhumvit 77 (On Nut).
The school runs a Primary Campus (Nursery–Year 6) and a separate Secondary Campus (Years 7–13), with an additional 'Forest Campus' used for outdoor learning. English is the language of instruction, supported by an immersion approach in Early Years with native English teachers and Thai-speaking teaching assistants; Thai language and culture, World Languages and Mandarin are also taught. Cohorts represent 50+ nationalities at a stated 10:1 student-to-teacher ratio.
Academically, Bangkok Prep is a Cambridge-approved IGCSE and A-Level centre (also offering Edexcel, Oxford International AQA, EPQ and BTEC), with an on-campus examination centre. It does not offer the IB. School-published 2025 results show 92% of IGCSE grades at A*–C (58% A*–A) and 72% of A-Level grades at A*–B (52% A*–A). These are school-reported and unverified.
On quality assurance, the school holds CIS accreditation and is a full member of FOBISIA, ISAT and TISAC, and was accredited by Thailand's ONESQA in 2011. No BSO or ISI inspection report appears to be published.
Why These Ratings?
Inspection & AccreditationA — Excellent
CIS accreditation (a full peer-evaluation process) plus FOBISIA/ISAT/TISAC membership — solid accreditation depth. No published BSO/ISI inspection band, so the tier is capped at A.
Strengths & Trade-offs
Strengths
- CIS accreditation confirmed — a recognised, rigorous peer-evaluation standard (not just a membership badge)
- Full age 2–18 continuity across dedicated Primary and Secondary campuses — no mid-stage school change required
- Cambridge IGCSE + A-Level with an on-campus exam centre and a broad qualification menu (Edexcel, AQA, EPQ, BTEC)
- Strong, openly published 2025 exam results (IGCSE 58% A*–A; A-Level 52% A*–A)
- Backed by ISP, a large global schools group, plus FOBISIA membership signalling British-sector alignment
- Highly transparent fees published by year group on the official site
Trade-offs
- No published independent inspection (BSO or ISI) — quality assurance rests on accreditation/membership rather than a graded inspection band
- Total student enrollment is not published, limiting visibility on school size and demand
- No IB pathway — families wanting the IB Diploma must look elsewhere
- EAL provision is described as Early-Years immersion; no dedicated, named EAL programme for older entrants is detailed publicly
- A-Level results, while strong, are school-reported and not externally verified
