Using BrightKey

BrightKey helps families understand and organise school and university applications. We gather admissions requirements, deadlines and guidance, and present them in one place so you can prepare with confidence. This page explains, in plain language, how to rely on that information and the terms of using our service.

Always confirm with the school

We work hard to keep our information accurate and to show you when each item was last checked and which official source it came from. But admissions requirements, fees and deadlines change, and official sources are sometimes updated without notice. BrightKey is a starting point and an organiser — it is not a substitute for the institution’s own official admissions pages. Before you rely on any requirement or deadline, always confirm it directly with the school or university. Where we show a source link, use it.

No guarantee of accuracy or outcomes

We provide our information “as is” and do our best to keep it correct and current, but we cannot guarantee that every item is complete, accurate or up to date at the moment you read it. BrightKey does not guarantee admission to any institution, and using BrightKey does not improve or affect any admissions decision. You remain responsible for meeting each institution’s actual requirements and deadlines.

Our responsibility

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BrightKey and its team are not liable for any loss, missed deadline, rejected or incomplete application, cost, or other consequence arising from reliance on information shown in our service — including where an item was outdated, incomplete or incorrect. Deadlines and eligibility are ultimately governed by each institution, not by BrightKey. We are grateful when you tell us something looks wrong (there’s a “report” option on every checklist) so we can fix it for you and the next family.

Community contributions

Some information is contributed by other applicants and clearly marked as not yet officially confirmed. Treat these as helpful signals to verify, not as verified fact.

Your account & data

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for keeping your account secure. We store only what we need to run your applications workspace (your profile, the children and applications you add, your drafts and progress) and we never sell your data. You can export everything we hold, or permanently delete your account, at any time from your account settings.

Changes to these terms
