Brussels hosts one of Europe's densest concentrations of international schools, driven by the EU institutions, NATO and a large diplomatic and expatriate community. Provision spans long-established IB and British-curriculum schools alongside the publicly funded European Schools, which prepare students for the European Baccalaureate. Because education in Belgium is devolved to the three language communities (Flemish, French-speaking and German-speaking), oversight of international schools runs through community-level inspection that assures statutory standards rather than a single national regime. Crucially, none of these communities publishes an Ofsted-style graded band — an 'Outstanding' or 'Good' rating — for individual international schools, so there is no verbatim top grade to cite.
