UKiset (the UK Independent Schools' Entry Test) is an online admissions test for international students aged roughly 9.5 to 18 applying to UK independent schools. Developed with Cambridge University Press & Assessment, it combines reasoning (verbal, non-verbal, mathematical) with an English-proficiency assessment on the Cambridge English framework, and benchmarks each candidate against British students of the same age. Its purpose is to let a UK school compare an internationally-schooled applicant on a common scale before investing in an interview or visit — useful precisely because grades from different national systems are hard to compare directly. Over 100 leading independent schools accept it, and one sitting can be shared with several schools. Because it blends fixed-ability reasoning with an English test, the honest preparation split is: the reasoning cannot be meaningfully crammed, but genuine English improvement over months does move the language score — so for a non-native English child, steady language work is far more valuable than last-minute test drilling.
